What started as a seed idea in an office at the Prototype Integration Facility at Picatinny Arsenal for UTRS to look at alternative processes to manufacture titanium metal from raw ore has turned into a cutting-edge technology with the potential to radically change our everyday lives. UTRS developed a novel method to refine raw titanium that for the first time paves a sustainable future for the domestic and environmentally friendly production of this miracle metal and its alloys. Unlike conventional titanium refining, our patented process is net zero carbon, can use a variety of U.S.A.-sourced ores and recycled metal, uses no harmful chemicals in its production, and will reduce the price of titanium and its alloys by up to 50%.
UTRS has a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art laboratory and prototype facility in Butte, Montana devoted to maturing this technology as well as exploring additional metallurgical and chemical research and development. The Universal Achemetal Titanium, LLC (UAT) joint venture was formed in 2017 to enhance our knowledge and capabilities in the titanium market and distribution. Our team has partnered with several global metal market leaders with multi-year investments to bring this exciting proprietary UTRS technology from the laboratory to large refineries.
