Beyond Words
Corporate Social Responsibility is easy to talk about. Giving back, acting ethically, caring for the environment – these are concepts that most companies promote. But at UTRS, it goes beyond promotion. Our CSR pillars are embedded in our strategic planning. We don’t treat our CSR efforts as afterthoughts to be considered if resources allow. Rather, CSR drives our strategy and the decisions we make. Below are some examples of ongoing initiatives related to our CSR pillars.
UTRS’s Nonprofit to Support Veterans
Driven by our desire and duty to give back to the service member community, in 2022 we helped launch the Next Frontier Advanced Manufacturing Institute (NFAMI), a 501(с)(3) organization. The mission of this nonprofit is to help veterans, as well as members of our armed services who are transitioning to civilian life, and their families with skills-based training for advanced manufacturing. The goal is to thank our veterans for their service, while boosting the pipeline of critically-needed workers for increasingly higher-tech manufacturing and welding jobs.
UTRS Charitable Fund
We have been fortunate to have a long track record of success in various industries and regions. As part of our operating strategy, we donate a portion of our profits each year to charitable organizations and causes that align with our values and the industries and markets we support.
Supporting STEM Education
As part of our commitment to STEM education, the UTRS Charitable Fund provides STEM support grants.
