UTRS Advanced Manufacturing (UTRS AM) has the resources to create or fix your largest components, non-standard parts, and specialty machines. We are one of the only companies in the Mid-Atlantic Region that can handle the demands of large part machining. We leverage decades of experience and state-of-the-art equipment at multiple facilities to deliver exceptional results to you for every project.
Advanced Equipment and Technology
Horizontal Boring Machines
With an X-Axis travel of 138″ and a Y-Axis travel of 98″, our massive TOS Varnsdorf CNC Horizontal Milling Center can handle workpieces up to 16 tons. This and our other TOS machines are ideal for machining large frames, bases, housings, side plates, bolsters, press frames, chamber doors, and flanges. As you’ll see in our Equipment List, we have many over-size CNC machines in our facilities.
Vertical Machining Centers
With travel ranges up to 120″ x 60″ x 60″, these centers can accommodate massive workpieces with ease. Our Haas VF-9, VF-8, VF-5, VF-4, and VF-2 models offer extensive travel ranges and high precision, making them suitable for a variety of large part applications.
Bridge Mills
Our bridge mills offer an impressive 236″ x 118″ x 39″ travel range, perfect for machining expansive flat surfaces.
VTLs (Vertical Turning Lathes)
With a 98″ swing and 59″ under rail, these lathes can handle large cylindrical parts with exceptional accuracy. Our Mazak Quick Turn Nexus and Victor CNC Lathes can accommodate parts up to 37″ in diameter and 157″ in length, with machines equipped for threading, contouring, and precision machining of long, cylindrical components such as large shafts, pulleys, sheaves, rolls, and crane wheels.
Blanchard Grinder
With a 72″ diameter capacity, our Blanchard grinder ensures precise surface finishing for large components.
